Your driver will meet you at the reception around 6am and take you to your first stop on your Sri Lankan adventure – Negombo fish market. It also offers an magnificent view of the Negombo fishing harbor. (If you would like to skip that your start will be at 8am).

We will continue our day with the visit of the Millennium Elephant Foundation (Optional – elephant ride) and learn about this amazing creatures up close. We recommend you to visit MEF instead of the Elephant orphanage. Pinnawala is less personal and usually 50 or more tourist stand in a circle and take pictures of the elephants. MEF is a place where they cure sick elephants (a normal person cants see they are sick), you get one elephant assigned and you personally can spend some time with him, have a short ride (without steal cages since that is hurting elephants) and wash him in the river. The entrance fee is 2000/= and your money goes for the treatment of elephants. That’s why we support them. There is also a small museum so you can learn some new facts and a paper factory where they make paper products out of elephant poop. (You can also choose Pinnawalla orphanage instead).

We will also visit a local Herbal and Spice garden where you can learn more about Sri Lankan Ayurveda medicine, natural herbs and spices used for cooking.

The arrival to Sigiriya will be in the evening.

Much of this biodiversity is attributable to its island form, harboring many endemic species, and to its variable topography and climate. The most amazing site between giant lizards, eagles and other interesting birds, wild buffalo and sometimes even sneaks are the big herds of wild Asian Elephants, which you can spot. It’s a memory for a lifetime!
